How is leadership defined? What are the characteristics of a leader and who is qualified for a leadership title? In many cases, leadership is seen as a select few including those who are:

1. Smarter;

2. More powerful;

3. More popular;

4. Have an easier upbringing or easier shake in life; and

5. Appear to have more money or other resources.

This is just not true. There is no concrete evidence to prove that because someone is born poor, one cannot escape poverty and become a leader, or that your family structure and popularity rates will determine whether you live out your purpose or not. It has been affirmed time and time again that EVERYONE is a leader and an entrepreneur. The only question is whether you believe it or not.

As leaders, we must understand the root of what we think and believe. Leadership alignment is the method to work with ease. It includes the way we connect with ourselves and others. When we are referring to leadership alignment, we are focused on how we think, feel, and act which dictates how we navigate and produce as leaders.

The purpose of this newsletter is to provide the information needed to grow your knowledge and expand your understanding of how to define, apply, and refine your natural ability to lead with purpose. Elite Acuity (the company) was developed to separate those who desire leadership over management; transformation over conformity, and exploring opportunities over limitation. At Elite Acuity, we understand that the most important answer to who you are is in the form of a question starting with what motivates you.

The Need

Do you know that you are needed? We are in a time when more people believe that leadership is limited to a select few. We are in a culture where more people are more comfortable with following rather than leading. We are more concerned with fitting in and being popular rather than being who we uniquely are. It does not matter if you are a baker, a janitor, a CEO, or a teacher. If you are not leading in your gifts you will live a life of disconnect and discontent trying to ‘fit in’. There is something that you are specially designed and created to do. You are called to lead in that uniqueness. The world needs you!

The Value

We tend to let others dictate our value. For example, if we pursue higher education, work hard at a job for 25+ years, or just go through the expected motions in life somehow, someone will recognize our value and give us what we think we are worth. Many people go through life seeking a small raise and increased benefits because they believe that their value comes from ‘the man upstairs’.

If you were to do what you love, what would that be worth to you? In other words, what is something you would be willing to die for so that you may live? This is a tough question to answer. Yet when you find the answer, you can begin to take the steps to live a life of ease and fulfillment rather than emptiness and regret. A leader understands the value of purpose over popularity.

Take some time this week to sit in silence. Allow yourself to separate yourself from the noise and clutter of the world. Stop worrying about how AI can make or break your business. Focus on the leader in you.
